A VISIT TO "ACADEMY PREP CENTER FOR EDUCATION' AND 'THE OPHELIA PROJECT'"

Gloria Brown and Fran Wolfson personally visited the Academy Prep and Ophelia Project to hand deliver the Cheval Women's Club charity donation for 2009.

Pictured below with Gloria & Fran is Lincoln Tamayo, Vice President of Center Operation for Academy Prep and Robin Rose the new Executive Director of The Ophelia Project.

Our visit to both was delightful and very informative and both have been invited to visit us at our business/meetings to meet and speak to the membership. They were both excited about the invitation and look forward to it in the Fall.

VISIT TO TAMPA ACADEMY PREP CENTER

The Club voted the Tampa Academy Prep School as one of their charity recipients this year, which was a first for the Club. Therefore, Gloria Brown and Fran Wolfson personally delivered the donation to Lincoln Tamayo the Vice President of Center Operation.

The Academy Prep Center of Tampa educates under privileged students with high potential. All Students receive 4 years of tuition-free, college preparatory education. The students participate in a rigorous academic curriculum, enrichment program, social skills training and community service activities. They attend up to 11 hours a day, 6 days a week, 11 months each year. They learn with their own gender in classes of 15 students or fewer.

Tom Sansone, Academy Prep Board Chairman is quoted as saying "The aim is to move young people from an almost predictable path towards school dropouts and low paying jobs onto the road where college graduation and a productive life of leadership are the most probably outcomes".

DIVAS DINE OUT

The Divas dined out at "The Vine" - the newly opened restaurant at the VanDyke Commons Shopping Center - What a devine and delightful dining experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.
